They say if you can count how many true friends you have on more than one hand, you are a lucky person. Brett and Adriana are VERY lucky people. Surrounded all day by friends who laughed and shared in their excitement, we had such a great opportunity to document the banter and fun that took place throughout the morning. Between the guys getting dressed, joking, making fun of one another, and opening a very special bottle of scotch and the girls laughing and managing flower-girl makeup mishaps, this wedding was so much fun to be a part of.

It’s tough not to believe in fate when you hear how Brett and Adriana met one another. Perhaps in a scene straight out of a romantic comedy (the inspiration for the cheesy title of the post), to say these two were destined to be together would be doing their story an injustice. We couldn’t tell this tale in the proper fashion if we didn’t explain how they met, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the story that is Brett and Adriana.

A shout out is due to Gavin Wade from Gavin Wade Photography. You are such a great photographer to work with and we truly hope our paths cross again in the future!

This fall, we had the opportunity to sit down with one of Mission Bauer Hockey’s premier sponsored athletes, Kirk French. He is one of two players we focused on to get the roller hockey world ready for the upcoming Winter National tournament. Mission Bauer is combining two of their factory teams for the tournament so we had the opportunity to interview one player from each.

Servicemen and servicewomen in the military sacrifice. They put their lives on the line for our freedom. They put their country before themselves, and in the case of Andrea and Ben, they sacrifice the ability to live in the same city due to their service in their respective branches. Andrea is in the Air Force and Ben is in the Marines. When we first met up with Andrea, Ben was deployed overseas and she told us their incredible story. The fact that they have maintained their commitment to one another while being separated, often by thousands of miles, for months at a time.

Love doesn’t know distances. Love doesn’t discriminate between Skype dates and candlelight dinners. Love only knows love, and Andrea and Ben love one another. Their professions take them to opposite ends of the world at times, in very different situations, performing very different duties. In their professional lives, Andrea and Ben couldn’t be more different from one another. Two very different people, but as the card Ben gave to Andrea so perfectly articulated, they are two different people, with one perfect love.

A VERY special thank you to Kelly Aull from Mint Weddings for introducing us to Andrea and Ben. We LOVE you and the fact that you put your faith in our studio to document one of the biggest days in your couples’ lives! Also, a shout out to our new photographer friend, Boyd Harris, for being such a blast to work with!

One of the things we love most about Same Day Edits is that they don’t reveal their direction until the day of the wedding. Drafted from scratch each and every time, the Same Day Edit always allows us the opportunity to have fun with our couples in that we never know what they are going to look like until we get going. . . . and they never end up like we plan.

As we arrived in town early for this shoot, we met up with Rhonnie, Kimberly, and the rest of the bridal party as they began their plan to rehearse their grand entrance. So at 9pm the night before, the group got together for one last run-through of the grand entrance in the reception ballroom with a simple little speaker from the hotel room and a laptop. As we began filming the rehearsal, it became more and more apparent how large of a production this was going to be for their reception and we knew we had to make it a fun part of their Same Day Edit.

With that in mind, here it is, as shown to over 200 of their closest family and friends at the reception.

A very special thank you goes out to James Lee from All the Above Events for his assistance with making sure the presentation went off without a hitch at the wedding! Also, thank you to Mariemil and Paolo from Maolo Photography for being such great photographers to work with!

Family. Life. Surroundings. Shelter. Relationships. Stories. Just a few things that we are most thankful for in our lives here at Threaded Films. One of my favorite things to do (when I get the chance) is walk with Bailey the Boxer to the studio from my house. It’s a short walk, only 15 minutes or so, but in that time, I have the ability to relax, walk, and take in the sights and sounds of nothingness. Often times, we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, work, and our daily madness. Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday in that it often allows us the opportunity to pause, if only for a day, and remind ourselves that there can always be more to this life than we think, and sometimes, we simply need to stop. . . . . and be thankful for all that we have.

These are a couple images I saw today on my walk into the studio and I wanted to share them with you as they prove a couple points. First, Fall DOES happen in California. Second, we are never too old to be amazed by our surroundings as we were when we were children. Third, and perhaps most important, sometimes the most beautiful and amazing things that you never noticed before can be right in front of your eyes. . . . . all you have to do is look.

Happy Thanksgiving. – Steve

Love this branch as the leaves are literally turning from green to red.

This one is my favorite.
